The real reasons I do property
At first I thought property was all about the money, I then thought it was more about the Ego or power, it then progressed to being more about the Lifestyle Options that property provided. Now this is where most people would stop and live comfortably with their family, free from the financial worries of the world. For me I realised that I had a passion for helping others, to be sort of a financial educator/mentor.
I only realised sitting in a bar in Madrid at New Years Eve 2005 that I could really make a difference in the world, maybe not on the scale of Bill Gates or Mother Theresa but on a much more intimate scale. I could help people on a one to one level and not just in buying a property or building a portfolio but actually help them to see so many things that owning a portfolio gives.
It is such an empowering feeling to sit opposite many of you discussing something I feel so passionate about and seeing your body language change from one of ‘I have no idea what you are talking about’ to one of ‘I got it, I really do, I understand it’
This is what drives me in property; that look on peoples faces when they finally get it.
Even more than this I love sitting back sipping a Sangria over a Spanish sunset and hearing how much your lives have changed for the better since you started building your portfolio.
So if you haven’t had those feelings yet, my door is always open and my mobile is always on. Try me sometime!
Live with passion,
Brett Wood
