My most embarrassing lunch... The tuna steak that was!
Brett Alegre-WoodChairman, YPC Group
Hey guys,
Here's more of a personal development blog than a property but as you know I am right into my personal development.
It was 2003 in Leeds, I had just presented a seminar in property investment and was out to lunch with some of the team. Being on one of my permanent health kicks I ordered the tuna steak.
The lunch went on and the waiter obviously having made a mistake bought out this red looking steak that looked more ruby coloured than what I expected which was a light brown colour.

Anyway I made a right fool of myself discussing (bordering on arguing) with the waiter about the wrong steak. Anyway I accepted my fate which was to be ridiculed for the entire lunch and the every time we had dinner again.
The story still haunts me today...
The lesson that I learnt was that because I had always had tuna from a can, which was light brown, I had had hundreds of kilograms of it throughout my life and therefore I thought I knew what tuna looked like.
So my reality was tuna was light brown so my world was brown tuna... When presented with a different possibility I couldn't fit it in the box, instead I tried to, to use a kids toys analogy, fit the square into circle. There was no way t would fit but I tried to do it.
How many times do we use our past experience, our current beliefs to shut out new possibilities?
Today I actually love the ruby red steak called Tuna and in fact I rarely eat the canned version. My reality has changed and all it took was an embarrassing lunch in middle England.
Maybe you have some limiting beliefs or past programs that perhaps aren't correct or don't serve you? Call the team on 0207 812 1255 or direct on their mobiles and they can help you smash them, turning light brown into ruby red ;)
