Get educated, not just in property, but in basic finances too!

One common factor I find with all of our clients is they arrive on our door step (website) with the same dilemma:
I know I need to get into property to secure my pension and retirement. I want to improve my lifestyle, but who do I turn to and who do I trust.
This is exactly how I came into property. I grew up with the paradigm taught to me by my parents (and this is what they were taught by there's): get a career, buy a house, pay it off and live happily ever after! 30-40 years ago this was achievable and worked however today it does not. Unfortunately the State doesn't provide for us like it used to. Most people, nowadays, don't stay in one job their whole lives and one house is just not enough! So you need to plan for your financial future yourself and build yourself a property portfolio.
Now remember you are not unique. All the fears you go through when learning and building a portfolio are the same that I went through and are the same as what all of our clients go through. It is so rewarding and refreshing to see our clients evolve as they move through the 1st strategy of 1 2 STOP and develop their emotional intelligence. For example the types of questions they ask change from what type of curtains do I need? to what's the strategy with this property?
To overcome this fear and to create the ability to step out of your comfort zone you need to educate yourself. That's why we educate for free and Brett and I are available on our mobiles day and night, Monday through to Saturday, to answer any questions that you may have. I have found that a lot of clients have a poor understanding/education in regards to finance. To help build your emotional intelligence and become a more astute investor you need to address this issue.
Becoming more financially astute and more accountable is a must when building and developing a property portfolio. If you fall into this category you need to step out of your comfort zone and educate yourself. Your first action is to either buy or borrow the book The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason. This is a classic, a real basic read that will help you on the path towards financial freedom. If you want any help with your specific details just give Brett or myself a call.
Remember don't fall into the trap of the procrastinator! Get off your bums and get educated. :)
